ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Acts under the direction of the Athletic Director and Building Principal.
+ Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for effective performance in the activity, as individuals & team members.
+ Plans and directs a regular program of practice in season.
+ Maintains competency in rules, regulations, and coaching techniques for the sport/activity.
+ Maintains discipline and sportsmanlike conduct of all participants and enforces the policies of the District uniformly when disciplining participants.
+ Supervises student athletes when traveling.
+ Oversees the safety conditions for students and facility, and the areas in which the sport is conducted during all times students are present.
+ Demonstrates cooperative conduct.
+ Shares in responsibility for equipment, distribution, collection and inventory.
+ Teamwork and team building or management
+ Understanding nutrition, anatomy and physiology

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

+ Prior coaching experience is a plus
+ Must possess a strong comprehensive knowledge of the sport, preferably having participated in the sport
+ Must be knowledgeable of proper fitness and conditioning techniques necessary for athletes.
