JPMorgan Chase is looking to build a strong high-performing team for our Consumer Payments Platform in our Palo Alto Tech Center. We are seeking passionate, problem solving Software Engineers who embrace challenges and can design our Payment Platform to the Next Level and enhance our customer experience.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software components, and will be at the forefront of revolutionizing the consumer payments ecosystem where reliability, performance, scalability, and security are of top-most priority.

Job Responsibilities
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of collaboration, diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services and experience in building event-driven Micro Services and Kafka streaming.
  • Experience in Spring Framework and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience in developing standard unit testing frameworks, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience in PERF testing and turning as well as shift left practices.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets like GIT/BitBucket, JIRA, Maven

Please note this position is a Hybrid Office Work Position and Not a Remote Only Position. While candidates can work at home at times, candidates must be living in the San Francisco Bay or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area to commute to our Palo Alto Office.
