Job Summary

The IT Systems Administration Manager will lead the team responsible for managing and maintaining INSURICA's multi-location IT infrastructure and will also actively perform Systems Administrator duties. The IT Systems Administration Manager will utilize a variety of technologies, but not limited to, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, storage area networks, firewalls, TCP/IP networks, and VoIP systems, to drive system reliability, security, and performance at an enterprise scale, ensuring effective systems operation.

Essential Job Functions



Leadership and Management



Provide supervision to all assigned colleagues, including cross-training, performance management, training and development, coaching, and disciplinary action Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and quality of staff production, to ensure excellent internal and external customer satisfaction; proactively address, resolve, and monitor staff issues, demonstrating and fostering good morale within the department Provide a confident, collaborative, and consistent leadership presence, demonstrating a positive outlook and motivating employees by promoting individual excellence and achievement, as well as a team concept; develop team goals and strategies in alignment with organizational objectives Manage resource allocation, projects, and schedules for the team Serve as the escalation point for difficult systems situations, providing direction and coaching, intervening where warranted Evaluate, update, and report on systems issues, workflow, staff, etc.; develop workflow, policies, and procedures related to the systems administration function and implement and monitor changes within the department, addressing any problem areas with staff; ensure team adherence to agency policies and procedures, best practices, and security standards

Systems Administration



Manage and provide administration, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Intune, O365, SharePoint, Teams, and other core technologies Perform system upgrades, planning, testing, and coordinating across all locations Ensure the effective operation and security of storage area networks, Microsoft Azure, and VMware virtual infrastructure

Data and Management Security



Oversee data integrity and backups, ensuring comprehensive disaster recovery plans are in place Maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches

Support and Training



Oversee the health of the data center and critical systems, responding to hardware and software failures as they arise Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for departmental processes, system configurations, and procedures Ensure 24/7 coverage for critical system support, including participating in an on-call rotation as needed

Vendor and Resource Management



Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to optimize technology solutions and resolve escalated issues Plan and manage budgets for IT systems and infrastructure-related expenses

General



Perform all actions relating to customers and companies in a manner that will avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development

Job Qualifications



5 - 7 Years of previous IT systems administration experience, with a focus on the specified technologies, preferred 2 - 4 Years of previous supervisory/managerial or leadership experience within an IT department, preferred Bachelor's Degree, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, preferred Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar) are preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



Demonstrated excellence in technology management, strategic planning, and operational execution Demonstrated proficiency in network and security administration practices Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to influence others Excellent PC skills, with a focus on the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.), as well as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, storage area networks, firewalls, TCP/IP networks, and VoIP systems, among others



Work Conditions and Accommodations
