Job Description

The Zoological Society of Milwaukee (the Society) is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join a fun and talented team of professionals in supporting one of the most cherished community assets - the Milwaukee County Zoo. This role is responsible for supporting the IT Administrator and the organization in its technical profile.





This is a full-time position eligible for a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, complimentary dental, vision, life, STD and LTD coverage, 401k with up to a 5% match, PTO, paid holidays, and a complimentary zoo pass, up to the family level.

RESPONSIBILITIES




Provides basic technical support for the network and multi-user computer systems. Provides basic technical support for hardware and software issues. Deploys and configures various end-user technology. Performs basic server maintenance. Assists in the coordination of IT service providers. Orders and maintains the inventory of all IT-related supplies and equipment. Prepares various reports, as instructed. Sets up audio/visual equipment and network connections for various presentations and purposes. Assists the IT Director in network and server configuration. Actively seeks out development opportunities for IT skills and knowledge. Serves on the Emergency Notification Group, which requires the ability to be trained on the Emergency Notification System and the Emergency Response Procedure.



QUALIFICATIONS





Associate's or Bachelors' Degree in Information Technology or related field, or other IT certification; at least 1 year of experience in an IT Support role preferred. Strong understanding of Windows 11. Working knowledge and trouble-shooting skills in various technology and electronic devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and network security concerns. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively work under demand and deadline pressure. Excellent organization and efficiency skills. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one. Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm with occasional nights or weekends.
