Position Summary:

Are you ambitious, organized, and solution-focused? We are a fast-growing IT Support company in need of an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in providing exceptional IT services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire. Our Project Engineers work on multiple IT implementation projects centering around Cloud, Windows Server, Microsoft O365, basic L2/L3 networking and firewall configuration. Common projects include: soup-to-nuts network builds/redesign; AD upgrades/migrations/mergers; office moves; ISP changes; server migrations & domain upgrades, using virtualization and cloud environments; SharePoint data migration and Azure AD join. The Senior Project Engineer possess a broad range of both technical and business skills, as well as the ability to work with clients and vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget constraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with clients and vendors to execute IT projects on-time and within scope/budget.
  • Help ensure projects remain within scope and escalate concerns.
  • Common projects include; Server migrations (virtual & physical), Firewalls, Switches, ISP Configs, Site Build Outs, application migrations/deployment, O365 deployment, O365 migrations, VOIP, wireless deployment, email encryption, DUO MFA, Cloud migrations, etc.
  • Provide support with initial project scope/design
  • Incident escalation, especially for complex network issues
  • Coach and mentor other support staff, particularly new and junior staff to develop skills and improve understanding and adherence to Spade\xe2\x80\x99s standards, processes, and procedures
  • Collaborate with team to assess process improvement opportunities, assess tools, etc. to improve operations
  • Keep manager informed of issues that may impact the organization
  • Provide leadership in tone, actions, and execution
Technical Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working on IT implementation projects.
  • Experience with cloud server deployment
  • OneDrive, Azure, InTune
  • In-depth understanding Microsoft Windows Server technologies; including Active Directory theory and design.
  • Experience with server migrations & domain upgrades, using virtualization and cloud environments.
  • SharePoint Data Migration and SharePoint Design.
  • Experience building and maintaining Microsoft-centric LAN environments (commercial grade) from the ground up, including associated needs such as DNS, DHCP, ISP management, backups, etc.
  • Experience configuring multiple firewalls (SonicWALL, Cisco) from scratch, based on business needs and security best practices.
  • Experience with O365 Email Migrations.
  • Experience with Cloud Server Deployment
  • In-depth understanding with Microsoft Exchange Server, including design best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with server encryption and network hardening.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience working with vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time/within budget.
  • Ability to follow and produce written step-by-step procedures for unfamiliar technology.
  • Ability to execute overlapping projects.
  • Teamwork and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Adaptability and strong project management skills.
Preferred Technical Experience:
  • Experience implementing IT projects for small to mid-sized businesses
  • Routing, VLAN, and virtualization experience is a plus.
  • Terminal Services/Remote Desktop (application server) and/or Citrix experience is a plus
  • Experience with email security framework; threat protection, encryption, retention policy and integrity
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Experience integrating Duo Security multi-factor authentication applications
