Job Description
Definition
This is a professional, full-time, Non-Exempt position in the Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department. An individual in this position will be responsible for monitoring, repairing, and installing high-impact landscapes & irrigation systems within the city\'s park system; as directed by the City Forester.
Examples of Work
- Routinely monitor and test existing irrigation systems and record progress.
- Annually inspect and test backflow prevention devices.
- Repair existing irrigation systems at park, ROW, and ballfields.
- Install new irrigation systems as needed.
- Perform maintenance on high impact landscape areas; including seasonal color changes and replacing mulch and dead plants as needed.
- Conduct pesticide treatments in landscape areas as need.
- Assist with ballfield preparation and maintenance.
- Assist with special projects, programs, and events as needed.
- Ability & wiliness to work flexible work schedule hours, including nights and weekends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Subject to 24-hr recall, including any weather related incidents and emergency operations.
Individual must have a valid driver\'s license. Individual must have at least 5 years of professional experience in landscape maintenance and/or irrigation system management. The applicant must possess or be willing to obtain one or more of the following certifications within 12 months: TDA Licensed Pesticide Applicator, TCEQ Certified Landscape Irrigator, or TNLA Texas Certified Landscape Associate.
