Position Summary

Under moderate supervision, performs a wide variety of clerical and research tasks in support of the special investigations section. Additionally supports Agency and Human Resources by gathering, processing, and evaluating background information on prospective ERIE Agents and Employees to assist in the recruitment of qualified individuals.
  • The successful candidate will work from the Home Office and once trained a hybrid schedule will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities

Within a limited scope of authority, responds to requests for investigative information from various internal customers in human resources, agency, claims and underwriting. Searches specified public and protected data repositories to provide information. Assists customers in interpreting information received.

Conducts telephone interviews with identified & developed personal and business references to gather information on perspective agents. Documents information for inclusion in Agent Background Check
reports.

Develops and applies a working knowledge of applicable Federal and state privacy laws as well as section retention policies. Reviews requests to ensure compliance.

Contacts candidates, former employers, educational institutions, and appropriate public and protected data repositories to obtain and verify background information on potential Agents. Enters background
information into a template.

Performs general clerical duties, including answering telephones, gathering and verifying information, sending faxes, and researching the status of pending requests.

Assists with the collection of various information for the section, such as vendor information, satisfaction surveys, and information related to state mandated reporting.

Enters statistical information into databases and spreadsheets. Generates and distributes related reports documenting section activity.

Handles confidential information

As directed by the section supervisor, instructs new users in the use of public records information.

Qualifications

High school diploma, or equivalent, required. One year office experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft software required.
