JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for calculating the value of over 25 million gallons (monthly) of fuel using Petro Star\xe2\x80\x99s First In - First Out inventory methodology to value inventory and cost of goods sold.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned):

1. Responsible for calculating the value of fuel inventory and cost of goods sold using a manual FIFO costing method through the use of detailed spreadsheets accounting for production costs, purchases, freight, and associated transfers.

2. Perform monthly fuel inventory reconciliations for refineries & terminals including the preparation of the inventory certificates for the various divisions.

3. Complete general ledger account reconciliations with supporting schedules.

4. Work closely with the FP&A group to assist with accurate forecasting.

5. Responsible for coding, price verification, and confirmation of receipt for fuel purchases processed through Oracle Workflow.

6. Reconciles all transport activity to include invoice coding for freight carrier invoices and freight rate verification.

7. Responsible for monthly IRS Terminal Operator Reporting (Form 720-TO) and Carrier Summary Reporting (Form 720-CS). This reporting requires the creation of detailed spreadsheets for fuel movement for nine different locations and includes electronic filing through the Excise Summary Terminal Activity Reporting System (ExSTARS).

8. Prepares weekly, monthly, and annual Department of Energy reporting for refineries, terminals, and sales reporting on the EIA-800, EIA805, EIA-810, EIA-815, EIA-820, and EIA-782.

9. Prepares monthly U.S. Census Bureau Form M-3 for Manufacturers\xe2\x80\x99 Shipments, Inventories, and Orders.

10. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

11. Requires limited travel throughout Alaska which includes annual year-end inventory observations with external auditors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or related field required or equivalent education/work experience.

2. Five years of employment experience in related position, preferably in the fuel industry.

3. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

4. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

5. Good verbal and written communication skills.

6. Must be team oriented and have previous experience working in a team environment collaborating and providing support to upper management.

7. A working knowledge of word processing programs and a familiarity with multiple accounting systems is required.

8. Must have good organizational and time management skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The work environment is in a busy office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
