Job Description

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for managing the accuracy and integrity of all inventory data in the Lightspeed system. This position oversees purchasing and receiving operations, ensures proper documentation and data entry for all merchandise, and maintains accurate stock levels across departments. The Inventory Control Manager also supports vendor coordination and system maintenance to ensure that Beaver Sports' inventory information is reliable, up to date, and aligned with financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile accurate inventory counts in Lightspeed POS. Verify data integrity for item descriptions, SKUs, categories, pricing, and vendor information. Audit and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical counts and system records. Perform cycle counts and coordinate full physical inventories as scheduled. Generate and review reports to identify trends, variances, or data entry issues. Oversee the receiving process for all incoming goods and verify purchase order accuracy. Coordinate with department managers to forecast purchasing needs and maintain appropriate stock levels. Process and approve purchase orders within established budget parameters. Ensure vendor invoices are matched, approved, and routed for payment. Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues with shipments, pricing, or availability. Serve as primary point of contact for Lightspeed configuration and updates. Collaborate with the Bookkeeper to align inventory data with accounting records. Support the Lead Marketer and Store Manager with accurate item data for marketing and promotions. Develop and document procedures for consistent data entry, receiving, and order management. Assist with store openings and closings as assigned. Train staff in proper receiving and data entry procedures. Support management with ad-hoc reporting or purchasing analysis.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. Minimum two (2) years of experience in inventory management or purchasing. Proficiency with Lightspeed or similar POS/inventory software. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Regularly required to move about stockrooms, storage areas, and the sales floor. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical receiving tasks. Combination of office and floor work; occasional weekends or after-hours inventory events.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None directly, but provides functional guidance to department staff during receiving and inventory processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
