Inventory Control & Logistics Coordinator

Milwaukee, WI, US, United States

Job Description

About the role

------------------

Each day, you arrive on the warehouse floor ready to partner closely with the Director of the Distribution Center. Together, you align on priorities that drive proficiency, efficiency, and profitability. You set the tone for accurate inventory flows, organized storage, and on-time delivery--guiding warehouse and delivery functions so stores and customers receive perfect loads.

###

A day in the life

Walk the floor to confirm receipts are processed accurately and quickly. You verify that inventory is handled to company standards and that integrity metrics stay on target. Adjust the warehouse layout and product placement to keep operations safe, clean, and optimized for picking, packing, and shipping. Partner with associates so they can anticipate change, troubleshoot issues, and maintain maximum throughput as inventory needs shift. Lead cycle counting--investigating and resolving discrepancies--and prepare for, execute, and reconcile full physical inventories. Use your WMS knowledge across receiving, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, and reverse logistics to keep data and product flow aligned.
###

How you'll make an impact

Recommend smarter work methods, controls, procedures, and staffing approaches that move product accurately and on time. Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using sound judgment when only limited standardization exists. Communicate clearly with vendors and employees at every level, managing tough conversations calmly and respectfully. Create clear reports and correspondence; read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Handle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and safety.
###

Tools and tech

Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills. Comfort using electronic scanning devices and desktop/laptop computers. Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, and volume; apply basic algebra; and understand basic accounting procedures and financial statements. Willingness to become forklift certified (as applicable). Cell phone with a voice plan for regular work purposes (approximately 50%).
###

Schedule

Flexible hours to meet business needs, including peak seasons and special events.

###

Working environment

Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear, and lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and use foot to operate a machine to lift more than 100 pounds. Regular use of electronic scanning devices and desktop/laptop computer; occasional use of electrical cables, battery chargers, and standard office equipment. Use manual and mechanical equipment after training/certification, including pallet jack, walkie/rider, forklift, and scissors lift. Occasional exposure to sheltered weather conditions, unheated/non-air-conditioned spaces, fumes or airborne particles, and limited risk of electrical shock. Noise level ranges from moderate to loud. * Protective gear includes ear protection, eye protection, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
