Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

This position works 10 hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

$10,000 sign on bonus with a 2 year commitment for new hires

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills as well as educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and perform services at other facilities including on call responsibility
  • Performs all job responsibilities of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist II
  • Works as team member within assigned area to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments
  • Completes yearly project designed for the service line and or for implementation at the system level, content agreed upon with management. Content areas include but not limited to: evidence based practice change; service line workgroup leadership; quality improvement; research.
  • Demonstrate mastery of all equipment utilized for procedures
  • Active role in inventory management as assigned. Assures that annual lead apron testing is completed
  • Active participation in quality improvement activities for department as well as system level workgroups
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS) or certified/licensed as a Paramedic in the state of Pennsylvania with current credentialing maintained. Bachelor of Science in health care related filed accepted but not required.
  • 2 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Radiologic Technologist (RT-R). RT-R plus CV certification or RCIS or Cardiovascular Technologist plus RCIS. CPR and ACLS certification is required.
  • ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34 with renewal
