U-Haul International, Inc., seeks a full-time litigation paralegal with at least 2 years of relevant experience to join its Legal Department. Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for drafting and issuing litigation holds
Calendaring and docketing of case deadlines
Assists attorneys with legal and factual research
Provide discovery support
Drafting correspondence
Work with U-Haul attorneys and outside counsel on litigation matters with emphasis on; real estate, environmental, intellectual property and ADA (public accommodation) lawsuits.
Requirements:
Must have 2 or more years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house environment and be familiar with litigation fundamentals, e.g., evidentiary and procedural rules, proper file management, attorney-client privilege.
Must be responsive, practical, proactive, organized and detail-oriented
Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills; a strong work ethic; sound judgement; and good time management habits.
Must have the ability to work well both independently and with a team.
Has the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Westlaw. Prior experience with Legal Tracker is preferred.
Education:
Associate Degree (or higher) or certificate in paralegal or legal studies
