job summary:

Tatum by Randstad is working with a company that is the premier book retailing chain in the Southeastern United States, and the second largest book retailer in the nation. They are looking for an Internal Auditor to join their team in the Birmingham, AL. area. This position will not only being apart of the auditing process but jack of all traits within other departments.

Their ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, have strong presentation skills to present to the board of directors, and someone who is methodical and analytical. This position will be working with several different departments to help define areas of improvement and analyze new opportunities to make the company stronger.

This is a hybrid opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama.

responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead all audit activities for the Company (i.e. operational, internal controls, and external audit relationships)
  • Present findings to Executive Management and Audit Committee at least quarterly in an effective manner
  • Ability to analyze inventory observations
  • Deep understanding of major business processes
  • Strong technical internal audit skills, including IT audit skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to quickly assimilate relevant information in unfamiliar situations
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Passion to help improve business and process operations
  • Sound judgment and ability to act independently
