Primary Responsibilities:
Assess children through appropriate evaluation techniques under the guidance of the school psychologist.
Provide appropriate intervention strategies following the assessment process under the guidance of the school psychologist.
Report assessment results to parents and teachers under the guidance of the psychologist.
Serve as a member of the Child Study Team with the guidance of the psychologist.
Participates in in-service training.
Gain familiarity with the duties of the school psychologist, including a knowledge of assessment, utilization of school andcommunity resources, and the operation of the public school system.
Maintain records of assessment techniques and results.
Actively seeks greater knowledge of the field, through furthereducation, professional journals and professional organizations.
Increases knowledge of the classroom, learning environment and child development by active participation in the classroom.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree with a major in psychology, official letter of approval as a school psychologist intern from the Illinois Office of Education
SALARY:
$20,000 stipend
