What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced retail designer with the desire and interest to work in the behind the scenes world of the retail industry. The designer must be motivated to assist and lead customer accounts aiding in the growth of our business in a fast-paced work environment. As a problem solver, their contribution to the design and sales process will provide potential and existing customers with the correct product solutions for their needs. Depending on the level of opportunity, client type, and custom requirements other team members and or related departments may support the process. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple opportunities within defined timelines and exude enthusiasm and professionalism throughout their tenure.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilize professional design skills to promote and secure sales of OPTO products and services;
  • Design Consultation
  • Qualifying, establishing, and maintaining effective relationships with customers via phone, e-mail, and video conferencing; including follow up with client specific materials
  • Proactive and reactive support to incoming inquiries
  • Maintain strong product line knowledge to match customer need with right solution
  • Fixture & Layout Recommendation
  • Detailed Project Proposals that include Presentation Drawings and detailed quoting
  • Understanding of Documentation, BOMs, & Assembly Detailing
  • Travel as needed to industry events and/or client meetings. Up to 10% travel.
  • Customer Service
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Associate\'s degree and/or 3+ years of industry experience in interior design, architecture, or related field
  • Strong Technical experience in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Adobe Suite, Power Point
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills necessary to effectively work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate quickly and effectively with coworkers and clients
  • Motivation to participate in the growth of our company by continually learning about the retail industry
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team

Mental/physical requirements:

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the employee to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers. Some travel required.
