Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor I, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) is responsible for analyzing in-depth problems, monitoring, and troubleshooting the California Highway Patrol (CHP) statewide Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for the 24/7 operations of Communications Centers utilizing the CAD system. The ITA is the technical level position responsible for version testing of CAD and the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). Performs complex analysis on processes, workloads, operational services, and customer relations, and communicates with members of one or more information technology (IT) and/or business units to identify issues, problems, and opportunities. Performs research related to technology trends and best practices. First point of contact for end users, providing support and information related to CAD, CLETS, and related services provided by the Department.

Working Conditions


Some travel will be required. Telework is not permitted for this position. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds alone, or up to 100 pounds with another person. Will be required to be on-call nights and weekends.

The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to appointment.
