Infection Control Preventionist / Ancillary Program Nursing Supervisor

Looking for a nurse-leadership role in the mental health field? Brook Lane Health Services, a leading provider of mental health treatment and education in the region, is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill a dual role.

Dual Role to oversee Infection Control for the organization and Supervise the RN\'s and LPN\'s in Laurel Hall Schools, Partial Hospitalization Programs, and Outpatient Offices. Infection Control position will normally be 24 hours or more per week and can vary. The Supervisor position will normally be 16 hours or less per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinically supervise nursing staff in various programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and nursing practices
• Review and revise, as necessary, nursing responsibilities related to specific programs
• Train new nursing staff within their program
• Perform skills/competency reviews as well as the clinical portion annual performance appraisals
• Ensure coverage as needed
• Position does not carry a patient caseload unless providing coverage
• Supervises the organization\'s infection control prevention program
• Is familiar with the Joint Commission Standards regarding Infection Control. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Develops a process for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases in all aspects of patient care and for all employees
• Is familiar with State and local regulations regarding infection control and ensures compliance
• Administers and coordinates PPD testing and influenza vaccinations to staff. Collects and reports related data as required
• Participates in orientation of new staff and ongoing training for all employees. Coordinates & facilitates educational programming for infection control and prevention
• Collects, analyzes, monitors and communicates infection control data. Presents this information to the Infection Control Committee on a regular basis and advises on techniques and procedures to reduce the risk of infections
• Is available/on-call or insures coverage for when infection control issues and questions arise
• Assists with employee health calls related to COVID and provides return to work clearance according to the current Maryland Dept. of Health guidelines

Requirements:

• Graduate of a state accredited school of nursing. Bachelor\'s degree in nursing preferred or an Associate\'s degree or diploma with appropriate experience accepted
• Willingness to complete APIC Infection Control training in a mutually agreed upon timeframe
• Current Maryland RN license or Multi-State Compact RN License
• 2 to 3 years experience in a supervisory role
• 2 years experience in med-surg nursing and at least 1 year experience as a psychiatric Nurse
• Experience with scheduling staff
• Ability to multitask in a stressful environment
• Ability to mentor and coach staff
