Position: Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Summit Skilled Solutions is looking for an experienced, hands-on

Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

to lead maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This role is responsible for overseeing equipment and facility upkeep, enforcing safety standards, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in

large presses, welding, PLCs, and electrical systems

, combined with proven leadership and prioritization skills.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Planning

Direct, schedule, and supervise the daily tasks of a small maintenance team (2 direct reports: Repair Technician and Electrician/Custodian). Collaborate with Production Supervisors, Tool Room, and Engineering to address tooling and equipment needs. Oversee maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime. Ensure staff have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed. Consistently enforce company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Provide forklift operator training and certification in compliance with company standards.

Safety & Compliance

Promote a strong culture of safe work practices and train employees on proper procedures. Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with company safety standards and partner with the Safety Manager on ongoing improvements.

Facility & Equipment Management

Oversee facility upkeep, including plant organization, equipment servicing, and cleanliness. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all plant machinery and facility systems. Support preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely repairs are carried out.

Employee Relations

Manage attendance records, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and morale. Support skill development and training opportunities for maintenance staff.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in metal stamping or manufacturing. Demonstrated expertise in: Large mechanical presses Welding and fabrication PLC troubleshooting and programming Electrical systems and facility maintenance Strong troubleshooting skills with sound decision-making ability. Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven leadership in a hands-on supervisory role. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, reach, and work in various plant conditions. Comfortable working in environments with noise, temperature changes, and occasional heights. Strong visual and auditory skills for identifying equipment issues and safety hazards.
