AmplifyBio is a newly established, commercially focused preclinical CRO that was created as a Battelle spin-off. Aligned with, and supported by leading life sciences-focused investors, we partner with our clients to provide preclinical CRO services from single study and through full IND enabling studies. We have a strong focus and commitment to helping accelerate the commercialization of advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapies and vaccines.

AmplifyBio is currently looking to hire an Industrial Hygienist to join our growing Environmental Health and Safety Specialist team!!!

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll do Here:

  • Conducts in-depth surveys and evaluations of working conditions/environments to determine the nature and magnitude of hazardous exposures and the effectiveness of existing control measures.
  • Conferences with managers and employee representatives to explain the purpose and scope of inspections and the pertinent regulations as well as reviews of hazards noted and ways to abate identified hazards.
  • Applies appropriate sampling techniques and procedures and may oversee the work of contractors engaged to perform specific monitoring.
  • Performs analysis of some samples and the interpretation of scientific data.
  • Analyzes findings and recommends, devises, and/or works with engineers and other disciplines to develop corrective/control measures, such as changes in work procedures, systems, materials and/or the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), The Joint Commission (TJC), Life Safety Code, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guidelines, National Institutes of Health (NIH) Guidelines, U.S. Pharmacopeia Standards (Pharmacy), and documents inspections and conducts follow-up to verify abatement of noted health hazards.
  • Determines engineering controls, administrative controls, and/or PPE that would be required to appropriately protect employees.
  • Provides training to employees for occupational health matters, including hazard awareness, safe health working procedures, personal protective equipment, and materials handling.
  • Participates as an expert advisor on Industrial Hygiene matters on internal committees.
  • Reviews and updates all Industrial Hygiene related policies and creates any new related Industrial Hygiene policies based on Federal and local compliance requirements.
We Would Love to Hear from You If:
  • A minimum of a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree is required. Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • At least 2 years in research, clinical, pharmacological, or biotechnology field
  • Current Industrial Hygienist Certification required; plus, specialized certifications as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with GLP processes and procedures.
