Job Purpose:

Reporting to the site HSE Manager, the Industrial Hygienist performs advanced professional work to support and advance Worley\xe2\x80\x99s Industrial Hygiene Program. The successful candidate will work with the Worley HSE and Operations teams to monitor industrial hygiene conditions, practices, and procedures in a variety of Oil & Gas Facility, Drilling, and Field Support activities. This position is located on the North Slope of Alaska and requires a rotational work schedule, (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off) or (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off). Relocation assistance to Alaska is not available; however, air transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Lodging and meals are provided while on rotation.

Essential Job Functions:

\xc2\xb7 Conduct and manage the completion of health risk and exposure assessments to develop risk characterizations for established SEGs. Provide written communications of assessments to the applicable field crews and management team.

\xc2\xb7 Provide recommendations to prevent or reduce exposure to chemical and physical agents.

\xc2\xb7 Provide technical support for Confined Space ventilation planning.

\xc2\xb7 Accountable for the maintenance and calibration of Worley Atmospheric Monitors, Meters, Detectors, and other IH equipment required to carry out field activities and exposure assessments.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain industrial hygiene recordkeeping in a complete, auditable format.

\xc2\xb7 Develop and update program procedures.

\xc2\xb7 Develop, deliver and/or sponsor occupational health and hygiene related training to the organization as needed; review, customize, and update current training modules.

\xc2\xb7 Provide written compliance reports to agencies; represent Worley during agency inspections; maintain working relationships with state and federal agencies.

\xc2\xb7 Provide Safety and Environmental support to the Worley HSE team as requested.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of principles and practices of industrial hygiene.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of OSHA and General Industry Safety Standards.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of program management.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge and experience with industrial hygiene testing equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to apply the principles of industrial hygiene to include recognition, evaluation, and control of recognized hazards (preference to those with experience in AIHA Frameworks).

\xc2\xb7 Ability to conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and hazardous work materials to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local health and safety regulations.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to establish priorities for workload based upon such factors as need for immediate action, work objectives, work schedule, and knowledge of future needs.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others understand.

\xc2\xb7 Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear. (Prudhoe Bay, Alaska is a remote Arctic work environment)

\xc2\xb7 Must stand throughout evaluation.

\xc2\xb7 Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3-minute step test.

\xc2\xb7 Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.

\xc2\xb7 Lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

\xc2\xb7 Lift 25 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

\xc2\xb7 Carry 25 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

Qualifications

External Qualifications:

  • Advanced Industrial Hygiene degree, or a combination of Safety and Health education/certification with relevant Industrial Hygiene field experience.
\xc2\xb7 Four years work experience with Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, & Outlook)

\xc2\xb7 High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

\xc2\xb7 Valid driver\'s license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer

Preferred Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

\xc2\xb7 Two years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in or around hydrocarbon facilities

\xc2\xb7 Two years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in an arctic environment

\xc2\xb7 Environmental Solid Waste and Land Disposal Management experience
