MISSION

To support Purchasing activities for non-production materials and services and support regional Purchasing initiatives.

Responsibilities & Activities

Responsibility 1:

• Manage non-production suppliers
• Source purchased indirect materials, indirect services, and capital expenditures
• Support plant goals (cost, quality, delivery, etc.)
• Optimize supply base
• Manage and resolve supplier issues
• Control and set up new suppliers
• Support regional commodity strategy.
• Support OMEGA project.
• Insure compliance to purchasing/sourcing rules.

Responsibility 2:

• Support local buying functions: MRO/Stockroom, Plant Office Equipment and contracts
• Drive cost reductions/productivity
• Place purchase orders for non-production requirements
• Support cycle count functions
• Track MRO improvements via scorecard
• Consistently meet and exceed cost cutting goals

Responsibility 3:

• Authority and responsibility to stop production when a quality or safety issue arises

• Work requires walking, talking, seeing, hearing, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, grasping, crouching, pushing, balancing, reaching, kneeling, and standing
• Must be able to lift up to 33lbs on a regular basis

• Work requires working under high and low temperatures at certain times

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Personal Background

• College Degree Preferred (Business or technical degree) or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Purchasing preferred

Job Technical skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Proficient in SAP
• Ability to collect, maintain, and analyze data
• Ability to create and present sourcing documentation to Global purchasing department
• Ability to follow all buyer responsibilities and rules in respect to the job and sourcing documentation
• Demonstrated negotiation ability within a manufacturing environment
• Preferred understanding of accrual based accounting practices
