Function:

The MRO Sourcing Manager will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, and operations sourcing projects to help Intuitive Surgical (Intuitive) procure services and products for the best overall value. The MRO Sourcing Manager is accountable for supporting operations spend categories such within lab equipment & supplies, calibration services, safety equipment, translation services, and select areas related to R&D. This individual will work closely with Intuitive\'s operations and supplier quality departments.

The ideal candidate will be able to conduct supplier research, category/market research, market index analysis, data analysis, baseline development, RFP development, bid management, negotiations, offer analysis and category strategy development. This role will also be involved in post-bid management, which includes activities such as contract reviews, business reviews, spend analysis and supplier management. This role will manage multiple projects at the same time as well as support ad-hoc project requests.

Roles and Responsibilities:

MRO Category Strategy

  • Develop baseline for current state and define the future success for the MRO spend categories
  • Define meaningful KPIs to measure the health of the spend category
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross functional team members to execute category strategies
MRO Sourcing and RFP Process Execution
  • Collaborate with portfolio owners to drive establishment and execution of renewals and maintenance program strategy
  • Conduct detailed market and supplier research to communicate these findings through meaningful research summaries
  • Manage project timelines for MRO sourcing activities and facilitate meetings
  • Develop RFPs and create complex bidding spreadsheets
  • Evaluate supplier bid responses (quantitatively and qualitatively)
  • Facilitate the development of award scenarios and recommendations for stakeholder evaluation, consideration, and decision-making
Contract Negotiation
  • Review contracts and spend to assess potential sourcing opportunities
  • Meet with contract owners / Intuitive contract manager / legal department to follow-up on concerns relating to supplier contracts
  • Provide guidance on contract commercial term negotiations through collaborative approach with MRO stakeholders
  • Partner with legal /contracts team to negotiate best in class contract terms to minimize risk to the company
Ad-Hoc Analysis and Project Support
  • Assist Global Category Leader, Operations Procurement in updating MRO project pipeline and associated savings
  • Support Indirect Purchasing team KPI development and tracking
  • Able to develop and deliver presentations for internal stakeholder updates
Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree Required (business, supply chain, or related discipline preferred)
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience with minimum 2-4 years in a procurement role negotiating MRO contracts
  • Experience navigating through regulated procurement categories preferred
  • Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis and draw conclusions
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills with adeptness to lead others through ambiguous and/or complex issues
  • Superior negotiation skills to influence senior leadership on strategic direction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with team members and stakeholders including senior management
  • Attention to detail and the drive to get things right with minimal supervision
  • Experience developing, implementing, and administering Self Service or automated purchasing channels (i.e., Punchout Catalogs)
  • Demonstrated success with appropriate vendor consolidation and order optimization initiatives

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
