The Opportunity

In this Role You\'ll Get To:

  • Partner with assigned departments to provide employee relations support to managers. This includes providing coaching, counseling, conflict resolution, and fair management of situations requiring corrective action and performance management tasks.
  • Be a partner and consultant to departments to help solve challenges and develop continuous improvements in HR processes.
  • Research, answer, and follow-up on daily inquiries from employees and managers on policies, procedures and HR processes, including working collaboratively with our HR shared services teams.
  • Help classify jobs, writing job descriptions, and working with managers to facilitate job re-leveling and promotion processes.
  • Provide guidance to employees looking for reasonable accommodation under the university\xe2\x80\x99s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policy and processes in compliance with federal regulations, and work with our leave of absence specialist in handling complicated leave and ADA issues.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team in the recruiting/on-boarding process.
  • Help deliver training programs, including Peak Essentials, Performance Management, and collective bargaining agreement training.
  • Help with project support, and serve as backup to other HR functions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned. Job responsibilities can change at any time, with or without notice.
What we\'re Looking For:
  • Minimum of 4+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in human resources
  • Minimum 2+ years\' experience working as an HR Business Partner
  • Experience working in HR within last 2 years
  • Bachelors\xe2\x80\x99 degree in related field
  • Experience in a high volume, employee relations-heavy environment
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, and the ability to analyze, interpret, and apply policy and procedure.
  • SHRM CP, SCP, HRCI certificate strongly preferred
