The Office of Management and Finance (OMF) oversees the agency's fiscal operations, budgeting, procurement and contracts, human resources, and other key administrative functions. We provide the internal support and oversight needed to ensure efficient, accountable, and transparent agency operations. OMF does not deliver direct services to the public.
About This Job
This position is part of the Employee Administration Unit of the Human Resources Division. The responsibilities include recruiting, posting job announcements, consulting with agency administrators on employee actions, data entry, and payroll. In addition, ensuring that all documentation and data quality is in accordance with La. State Civil Service and Louisiana Works requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
  • Responsible for initiating and facilitating orientation meeting with all new hires to review new hire documents and enter new hire information into the system in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and submits requests to post agency vacancy announcements to the SCS Job Posting email to be posted to the LA Careers systems after each job is placed in draft mode, running and attaching the DPRL to the posting requisition.
  • Reviews qualified applications once received from SCS to determine if supplemental qualifications have been met and reviewed.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to employees regarding various payroll issues and works with them to resolve issues. Audits the payroll calculations and corrections by generating and reviewing of La Gov reports.
  • Verifies that all documentation is present, complete and timely for all HCM actions performed prior to audit review by the HR Supervisor. Runs reports to audit and correct information entered into the HCM system, such ZX02, ZP169. Works with Civil Service to correct any discrepancies on any audit reports submitted by the SCS Application and Data Division.

Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.
