Job Description




The coordinator of education services is a qualified individual with knowledge of coordinating and
maintaining staff development/educational practices. This position serves as the coordinator for
the American Heart Association\xe2\x80\x99s training center programs. She/he is responsible for supporting
the education council and educational activities and for performing a full range of administrative
/ support services to Human Resources. Maintains a professional image for staff
development/education services with all customers \xe2\x80\x93 physicians, staff, and the public.
Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential matters related to human resources.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
\xef\x82\xb7 Demonstrates ability to coordinate multiple staff development/education tasks and
services in an organized and orderly system.
\xef\x82\xb7 In collaboration with the educational council, provides support for the council and
educational offerings.
\xef\x82\xb7 Maintains education calendar of events.
\xef\x82\xb7 Reserves audiovisual equipment for educational events.
\xef\x82\xb7 Orders and maintains office supplies for Human Resources, staff development and
training center.
\xef\x82\xb7 Serves as a resource for information, support, and quality control for all American
Heart Association training center instructors.
\xef\x82\xb7 Provides day-to-day management of local training center activities.
\xef\x82\xb7 Accountable for the management of course fees and bank deposit slips.
\xef\x82\xb7 Prepares reports and collaborates with others to maintain training center standings.
\xef\x82\xb7 Demonstrates ability to maintain files and data base computer applications for staff
development and education.
\xef\x82\xb7 Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
\xef\x82\xb7 Supports and administers mail within the department.
\xef\x82\xb7 Provides administrative / support services to Human Resources, e.g. maintain calendars
for huddle and \xe2\x80\x9cchosen one\xe2\x80\x9d for file room control processes, department invoices and
requisitions, expense reports, serves as timekeeper, etc.
\xef\x82\xb7 Serves as a clerical resource for the Approved Provider Unit.
\xef\x82\xb7 Tracks and manages all employee mandatory licensure/certifications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
\xef\x82\xb7 Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
\xef\x82\xb7 Desired knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

\xef\x83\x98 Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for
clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift
device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
