The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents by thoroughly cleaning all 49 resident rooms and assisting with laundry duties. This role supports resident satisfaction and contributes to the overall quality of life at Orchard Park Assisted Living.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Room Cleaning:
Deep clean approximately 10 rooms per day, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows as needed.
Restock supplies such as shampoo, toilet paper, body wash, and toothpaste.
Clean bathrooms (including showers and toilets) and empty trash.
Clean refrigerators and remove spider webs as necessary.
Note: Use commercial vacuums only; stick vacuums are not permitted in resident rooms.
Proactive Cleaning:
Identify rooms that require more frequent cleaning due to higher levels of dirt or strong urine odor, and ensure they are cleaned multiple times per week.
Bedding Management:
Adhere to the bed strip schedule by stripping and reapplying bedding before leaving a room and initiating laundry procedures.
Inventory and Supply Management:
Maintain an updated list of needed cleaning supplies and submit it to the Administrator or Care Staff Coordinator every Thursday.
Monitor and report the supply levels of trash bags to the Resident Care Coordinator to ensure timely reordering.
Keep work supplies organized and accessible.
Checklist and Communication:
Utilize and update the housekeeping checklist daily.
Ensure residents acknowledge that their room has been cleaned by obtaining their sign-off.
Communicate any issues or completed tasks to the Care Staff Coordinator promptly.
Unoccupied Rooms:
Ensure that unoccupied rooms are clean, beds are made, and essential supplies are prepared in the bathroom for the next move-in.
Maintenance Reporting:
Report any maintenance issues or concerns immediately to the maintenance department.
Privacy and Confidentiality:
Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all resident information and living spaces.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned to support facility operations.
Qualifications:
Ability to work Monday through Friday with flexible 8-hour shifts based on workload and scheduling needs.
Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive bending.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
