POSITION SUMMARY:

At Ma Bahuchar Hospitality's Garner by IHG Hotel, maintenance matters! We're looking for a Maintenance Technician with a passion for perfection to keep everything up and running smoothly! Our maintenance technician will be dedicated to ensuring comfort behind the scenes, taking care of our guests and our hotel! Our goal is to deliver perfect experiences for each guest while providing the best work environment for our team!

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Create a safe, secure and comfortable environment for guests to enjoy. Maintain and repair physical structures of hotel buildings and grounds. Follow established preventative maintenance programs to ensure proactive maintenance, enhance guest satisfaction, and minimize costly repairs. Regularly inspect and service HVAC systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical components; maintain and repair worn or defective items. Replace hoses, wires, switches, fuses, faucets, valves, wiring, and belts in various machines and equipment. Perform routine landscaping maintenance as needed. Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Work closely with other departments to ensure prompt response to guest requests. Maintain sidewalks during winter weather, shoveling and salting as needed. Repair, paint, or replace interior walls, trim, wood, brick, stone, and concrete. Maintains brand standards through consistent maintenance. Routinely inspect and service fire alarms and emergency lighting. Properly use chemicals and tools to avoid injury, damage, or accidents. Clean and organize storage and supply rooms, boiler rooms, parking lots, public areas, and guest rooms. Remove trash from receptacles inside and outside of the building. Assist with deep cleaning projects and cleaning rooms when required. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

18+ months of work experience in general building maintenance or related field. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid driver's license.

REQUIREMENTS:

Weekend availability is required. Must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday. Flexibility - while we try to maintain a regular schedule, we work with each other to get things done. Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and crawl. Must be able to use hands and fingers to feel and handle objects. Must be able to reach, climb, and balance. Must have the ability to see and adjust vision; close, far, and peripheral. Must be able to move or lift items up to 100 pounds and push or pull objects or furniture up to 400 pounds. Ability to speak, read, and write in English; bilingual or multilingual to include Spanish preferred. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and as a part of a team. Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure environments. Ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve problems proactively.
