Doraku Sushi is seeking a warm, professional Host to be the first point of welcome for our guests. As one of Waikiki's long-standing dining destinations blending traditional Japanese flavors with modern culinary influences, Doraku takes pride in exceptional hospitality and a lively, upbeat atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and confident in a fast-paced environment, ensuring each guest's experience begins smoothly from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating with a friendly, professional demeanor Oversee reservations and waitlists efficiently using the restaurant POS system Maintain a clean, organized host stand and entry area Assist guests with questions, concerns, and special requests Communicate with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and flow of service Answer phone calls using proper etiquette and provide accurate restaurant information Support overall guest satisfaction by creating a positive first and last impression Assist with front-of-house tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Previous hosting experience preferred, especially in a restaurant setting Strong communication and customer service skills Experience with reservation or POS systems a plus Hospitality background (hotel/guest services) is advantageous Professional appearance, polished phone etiquette, and a guest-focused mindset Ability to stay organized, multitask, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of basic dining service and hospitality standards is beneficial
