Responsibilities

Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently to optimize flow and minimize wait times. Assist guests with menu selections, answer questions about food and beverage options, and provide recommendations when needed. Take accurate orders using POS (Point of Sale) system ensuring all details are correct for timely delivery. Coordinate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Maintain a clean, organized host stand and dining area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times. Handle guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints with professionalism, demonstrating excellent communication skills and guest relations. Support the serving team during busy periods by delivering food and beverages when necessary. Uphold phone etiquette when managing reservations or answering inquiries via phone or online platforms. Assist in training new team members on guest service protocols and POS systems to promote a cohesive team environment.

Skills

Proven experience as a Host/Host or Server in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong background in food service and customer service with a passion for creating positive guest experiences. Excellent communication skills--friendly, clear, professional--both face-to-face and over the phone. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; hotel experience is a plus. Knowledge of guest services principles, restaurant operations, and hospitality standards. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Exceptional guest relations skills with a focus on hospitality excellence. Experience with serving food and beverages is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
