Job Description

The Gem State Public Health AmeriCorps program partners community members with non-profits across the state in paid volunteer positions called AmeriCorps positions. These positions offer community members the opportunity to receive support while volunteering with their favorite non-profit. The opportunity is offered each year from June 1 to May 31 every year. This program focuses on mental health and suicide intervention and prevention services. Position Description Member will be responsible for receiving and disbursing donations, organizing storage rooms, cleaning indoors and outdoors, assisting client managers with client needs, and assisting with special projects. Member does not participate in prohibited activities. Member does not supplement, duplicate, or displace staff members at the host site Required Skills: Self-starter, able to work with little supervision, good communication skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per day, able to go up and down stairs, some computer and phone skills, available from 9am - 4pm Mon - Fri. Living allowance of $1,354/month before taxes distributed biweekly

Must be 18 years or older
Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
Pass a background check
Complete 1,200 hours
