Craftsmen Contractors is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator who can work for multiple projects in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Gonzales areas. You will dispatch from office in Zachary, La. **MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE OPERATING EXCAVATORS, BULLDOZERS AND TRACKHOE HEAVY EQUIPMENT.** Starting pay rate is $20 - $30/hour depending on experience. Responsibilities:
- Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly
- Load and unload cargo and move them to the appropriate storage area
- Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment
- Grading and digging
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
- Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
- 2+ years of experience working with heavy equipment
- Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
- Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Work with little supervision
- Will need to have all PPE and reliable transportation to get to work.
