Job Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator employee will maintain and operate front end loader and excavator. Screen various products such as loam. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates excavating and loading equipment and heavy machinery including excavators, power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders, and backhoes.
• Effectively completes excavation and related tasks such as backfilling excavations and breaking concrete or rock using appropriate equipment.
• Conducts routine inspections before operating equipment to identify needed maintenance or repairs.
• Performs or requests necessary repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• Consults digging plans, machine specifications, and safety procedures for specific tasks.
• Ensures work is completed to specification by observing grade stakes, material levels, hand signals, and other markers.
• Transports materials around job sites, factories, or warehouses.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Experienced knowledge and mixing of earth materials such as loam, gravel
• Knowledge of excavation procedures and techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and read excavation plans.
• Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Hoisting License
• CDL a plus
• Two years plus of related experience desired.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work in outdoor environment year round.
• Able to sit for 2 hours or greater.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects 30 pounds or greater.
• Good hand-eye-foot coordination and sense of balance.
• Able to kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward spaces to repair equipment.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits:
