Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Summary

Machado Construction Co. Inc., is a family owned and operated business located in Halethorpe, MD. We are seeking an experienced mechanic to join our team.

5+ years of related experience is required.

Duties

Diagnose all equipment.

Perform routine oil changes on trucks and heavy equipment

Perform routine transmission maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment.

Perform routine maintenance on all equipment, including but not limited to- brakes alignments, suspension work, cooling/heating, electrical systems, etc.

Perform tire maintenance and replacements if needed.

Install and maintain all equipment's batteries, shock absorbers, and exhaust systems.

Perform routine road tests on all equipment.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.

Must be punctual and have good time management skills.

Must be able to abide by all safety protocols and procedures.

Must be able to understand and follow written and/or oral instructions.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time, including walking, standing, squatting, etc.

Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. and 50 lbs. overhead with no issue.

Flexible attitude engaged in team goals.

Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather.

Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

$28.00-$35.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule

Monday-Friday

8+ hour shifts

40+ hours weekly
