Description: Meeting Street, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to children and families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, is seeking a motivated team player to serve as the Early Head Start Health Coordinator. As the Early Head Start Health Coordinator you will oversee and ensure compliance with all Head Start Act and Program Performance Standards as outlined by the Office of Head Start. Assess each client\xe2\x80\x99s overall health, dental and nutrition standing upon entrance into the EHS program. You will support families and staff in understanding the importance of overall medical and dental health in relation to meeting developmental milestones. You will conduct or secure additional health/nutrition consultation as needed. You will provide support for prenatal mothers throughout pregnancy as well as through postnatal care. You will review and provide recommendations on all health-related screenings. You will be responsible for all medical related tracking and data collection including correspondence with medical providers. You will maintain engagement with local health providers to ensure timely fax communication and verification of medical services to families. You will conduct pre- and post-natal visits. You will develop a nursing care plan for children with chronic health care needs (including but not limited to asthma, seizure history, diabetes, etc.) and review all group health forms. You will assist home visitors in providing appropriate referrals as needed.

Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in nursing, Community Health, or related field. Experience in Early Head Start or Head Start program preferred. You are a Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Rhode Island preferred. You have Nursing experience in an early childhood or community health setting. You have a Valid CPR and first aid certifications (will support in completion). A COVID-19 vaccination is required.
