Head of Human Resources Position Summary: The Head of Human Resources (HR) for Litman Excavating will be responsible for leading the HR function, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, programs, and practices. This role involves managing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, compensation, leave management, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations. Must also be able to use technology efficiently and effectively and perform HR administration tasks of the job as well. Qualifications for Head of Human Resources: Education: - Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in HR or a related discipline is preferred. Experience: - Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR management role. - Proven track record of successfully leading HR functions in a complex organizational setting, preferably within the construction or related industry. Certifications: - Professional certifications such as PHR (Professional in Human Resources), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), or SHRM-SCP (SHRM Senior Certified Professional) are highly desirable. Skills: - Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop HR professionals. - Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders. - Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR-related software for data analysis, reporting, and talent management. - Advanced knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. Abilities: - Ability to think strategically and translate HR strategies into actionable plans to achieve business goals. - Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative and practical solutions to HR challenges. - Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making processes. - Skilled in fostering a positive and inclusive work culture, promoting diversity and equal opportunities. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company\'s overall business objectives. 2. Talent Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment and selection process, attracting top talent to meet the organization\'s staffing needs. 3. Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations, address grievances, and promote a healthy work environment. 4. Performance Management: Implement performance appraisal systems, assess employee performance, and provide feedback and coaching. 5. Training and Development: Identify training needs, design training programs, and support continuous learning initiatives for employees. 6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and internal policies, keeping the company up to date with legal requirements. 7. Policy Development: Develop and update HR policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect best practices and promote a positive work culture. 8. Benefits and Compensation Administration: Administer employee benefits and compensation programs and work with external vendors to provide competitive benefits packages. 9. Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts, conduct investigations, and provide solutions to employee issues while maintaining a fair and respectful workplace. 10. Health & Safety- Will oversee and manage the training, certifications, and compliance for job specific requirements. 11. Leadership Development: Implement leadership development programs to nurture the growth of managerial staff within the organization. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 1. Leadership: Strong leadership and managerial skills to lead and inspire the HR team. 2. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective employee engagement and relationship building. 3. Legal Compliance: In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. 4. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex HR challenges. 5. Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. 6. Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to resolve conflicts and employee relations issues in a fair and unbiased manner. 7. Construction Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the construction industry and its unique HR challenges is preferred. 8. Technology Proficiency: Proficient in HR software and tools for data analysis, reporting, and talent management. Physical Demands: The position of Head of HR typically involves working in an office environment. While physical demands are minimal, the role may require occasional travel for training, meetings, or other business-related activities.
