We are hiring mid- to senior-level green infrastructure design engineers to plan and design projects in southern California and leverage Herrera\xe2\x80\x99s decades of experience with the planning and design of green infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest. In this role, you\'ll not only get the chance to lead projects, but also to help grow our practice, mentor the next generation of engineers, and work with some of the most talented professionals in the industry. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the charge in planning and designing green stormwater infrastructure retrofits, transforming urban spaces into ecological and community assets.
  • Collaborating on neighborhood and regional stormwater facility projects, contributing your skills to enhance sustainability.
  • Providing essential support to municipal green infrastructure programs and shaping design guidelines for effective project implementation.
  • Channeling your creativity into civil site development engineering for high-performance green buildings, parks, trails, and open spaces.
  • Utilizing your expertise in stormwater conveyance system modeling and design to make a lasting impact.
  • Managing projects that champion high water quality standards, tackle complex ecological challenges, and support diverse communities.

What we\'re looking for:
  • 7+ years of civil engineering and stormwater design experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or ability to obtain within 6-months of hire
  • Experience in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimate (PS&E) packages for public and private stormwater management facilities and/or site development civil engineering projects
Nice-to-haves, but not required:
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Experience with planning and/or design of green infrastructure (GI) and low impact development (LID) practices
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Civil3D
  • Experience with the preparation of stormwater design reports and Hydraulic and Hydrologic stormwater modeling
  • Engineering design experience on site civil development and drainage design for linear transportation projects
  • Strong team collaboration, clear written and verbal communication abilities, and excellent organizational skills
  • A passion for developing sustainable solutions to complex water resource problems for public and private clients

  • This position is salaried and exempt from overtime
  • Mid-level salary range: $106,265 - $145,665 annually
  • Senior-level salary range: $137,535 - $179,935 annually
