Position Summary:
Work with a broad range of community organizations, stakeholders and government agencies to provide information or support operational and strategic objectives of UNMH. Serve as liaison to other governmental entities including Bernalillo County, The City of Albuquerque, Indian Health Services, New Mexico State Agencies as appropriate. Participate and represent UNMH at various committees focused on Behavioral Health as requested by UNMH leadership. Act as liaison with UNMH Behavioral Health Leadership teams around community discussions involving Behavioral health. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
COMMUNIY LIAISON - Function as community representative for UNMH and participate on committees including; Addiction Treatment Advisory Board, Withdrawal Management Meeting with Bernalillo County, Homeless Coordinating Council, Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Bernalillo County Behavioral Health Advisory Board, as well as other groups as appropriate
POLICY and PROCEDURES - Ensure compliance to all hospitals policies and procedures
CONTRACT COMPLIANCE - Review and advise related to contractual arrangements with governmental entities and vendors as appropriate
COMPLIANCE - Review and assess changes in State/Federal regulations, policy, and/or operational circumstances impacting behavioral health program development and operations; recommend modifications of the organization's policies, procedures, systems, and controls as necessary
CONSULT - Consult with and advise Administration regarding local and state governmental policy changes
REPRESENT - Represent UNMH as a primary hospital contact along with CEO to Native American Liaison Committee Board of Trustees
RESOURCES - Assure efficient use of assigned resources
DEVELOPMENT - Work with Bernalillo County and the City of Albuquerque for development of system of care for Behavioral Health
MEMBERSHIP - Participate as requested by UNMH administration on Hospital or External Committees requiring areas of expertise
PROJECTS - Support the CEO and CFO for projects including negotiations with Bernalillo County and Indian Health Services on the UNM Hospital Lease and Mill Levy, participation on the All-Pueblo Governors Council and IHS quarterly workgroup related to the 1952 contract and other strategic projects
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
