Job Description


Position Summary. The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s energy distribution and service operations. The position reports directly to the Senior Team \xe2\x80\x93 Operations Manager and has reporting to the position: operation manager of delivery and service, administration manager as well as division sales. This position seeks to build a supportive growth culture, achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty while meeting or exceeding efficiency and profitability objectives. General Manager Primary Accountabilities.

  • Lead, Manage, Accountability (\xe2\x80\x9cLMA\xe2\x80\x9d). This position holds themselves and team members working for them to behaviors consistent with Sail\xe2\x80\x99s Core Values and results established through financial, growth, customer and employee satisfaction, and overall operational execution expectations.
  • General Financial Goals. General Manager has the responsibility of achieving or exceeding established financial goals in predictable and sustainable ways.
  • Organic Growth. Individually and with team members, directly responsible for achieving organic growth goals.
  • High Customer Satisfaction Levels. Delivers, individually and with members of their team, value to customers, and contributes by optimizing the customer service process.
  • Employee Engagement. Ensures a high level of employee engagement by supporting a work environment that stresses communication and teamwork while free of any forms of harassment.
  • Achieves Execution Objectives. The General Manager is responsible for the achievement of strategic goals for their operation. Examples of these goals may involve reducing per-unit costs, increasing team productivity, or other such objectives.

  • Creates and supplies information for determining the performance of Key Performance Indicators (\xe2\x80\x9cKPI\xe2\x80\x9d).
  • Responsible for all aspects of safety and hazard elimination, including appropriate personal protective equipment, proper lifting of heavy parts and equipment, hazardous materials handling, and general safety awareness.
  • With others, assists in the recruiting, hiring, and performance of employees.
  • Evaluates, coaches, and communicates regularly with all members of their team.
  • Represents the Company professionally and respectfully in all interactions with customers and with the public. Is the \xe2\x80\x9cface\xe2\x80\x9d of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s operations in their local market.
  • Leads the team in \xe2\x80\x9cmeeting or exceeding\xe2\x80\x9d expectations within all areas of our customer satisfaction as demonstrated by customer surveys and is responsible for contributing to our service recovery in areas where the operation falls short of our established expectations.
  • Is personally responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships with customers, actively supports marketing efforts, and consistently demonstrates activity that leads to the development of new business relationships.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of comfort working independently in managing priorities and making decisions
  • Prior experience in managing, planning, and scheduling the activities of an active and customer-focused department
  • Strong sense of professionalism and ability to maintain discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a clean driving record
  • Must meet employment eligibility standards set for criminal and other background checks

Safety Considerations This position has a significant role in the operation\xe2\x80\x99s safety program. Success is dependent on the General Manager\xe2\x80\x99s leadership and commitment to reducing employee injuries, vehicle accidents, and liability claims.
