General Education Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
Adheres to the
California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP 1-5)
.
Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs based on the
California Content Standards
.
Utilizes effective teaching strategies and assessments to promote student learning and achievement.
Creates a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
Collaborates with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
Maintains accurate records of student progress and communicates regularly with parents/guardians.
Participates in professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required.
Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, district policies, and contractual obligations.
Performs
other duties as assigned
by the site administrator.
General Education Teacher Position Qualifications
Credentials:
Possession of an
appropriate California Teaching Credential
.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain within two (2) years, an
English Learner (EL) Authorization
.
ESEA compliant
(Every Student Succeeds Act).
Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with an
ethnically and culturally diverse student population
.
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
skills are
desired but not required
.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Commitment to continuous professional growth and instructional excellence.
General Education Teacher Physical Demands
Environment
: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
Activity
: Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items, with or without reasonable accommodations.
