Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Gate Clerk to manage entry and exit points at our Retail facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth product operations with inventory management. This position requires familiarity with Hardware and Lumber. Experience with equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks a plus. The Gate Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating with Lumberyard staff, and supporting overall distribution activities to ensure efficient workflow.

Duties

Verify inbound and outbound inventory. Assist with customer service processes, including loading and unloading trucks using pallet jacks, forklifts and by hand. Manage stock levels through stocking and packing activities in accordance with order fulfillment requirements Ensure proper documentation of all transactions Support customer receipts ensuring accuracy and timeliness Maintain safety standards during load & unload operations and ensure the proper use of equipment. Assist with lumberyard organization, including stock rotation and space optimization Collaborate with lumberyard and store staff to ensure seamless flow of goods through the facility

Qualifications

Previous experience in Hardware and/or Lumber preferred Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners Basic math skills for inventory counts and order calculations Experience with order fulfillment is advantageous Ability to operate equipment safely following safety protocols Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for recordkeeping and inventory accuracy Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members Warehouse experience including load & unload procedures is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
