Hourly, 40 hours per week

Position Summary:

Do you enjoy being outside and working in the garden? And perhaps you really like potting up plants and growing them in a greenhouse? Well...we are looking for someone to join our team of skilled gardeners and greenhouse technicians here at Bellingrath Gardens and Home. We need help growing plants for our renowned displays and then keeping them growing and looking awesome in the garden--doing all the stuff you'd expect, like weeding, watering, planting, potting, pruning, fertilizing. This is an amazing and unique full-time opportunity!

Primary duties include

? Planting of annuals perennials, shrubs, and trees

? Potting up plants

? Plant Propagation

? Weeding

? Watering

? Fertilizing

? IPM actions

? Corrective and cutback pruning

Secondary duties may include

? Small tree and shrub cut-downs or removal

? Minor irrigation installation and repair

? Maintaining water features

? Other tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

? Proven work ethic

? Proven gardening and/or nursery experience

? Ability to lift at least 35lbs

? Proven ability to work independently and also effectively and cohesively with other employees and volunteers

? Ability to work outdoors in climatic conditions typical to Mobile, Alabama

? Must have or acquire an AL private applicator permit within six months of start date

? Must have reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.56 per hour
