Fine Gardener
Fine Gardener Position Available, Hillsborough/San Francisco Hours: 12+ hrs/wk, (2+ days/week) Pay: $ 25 - 40, based on experience Wild Natives is looking for a fine gardener to join our team. You will primarily be working in gardens located in Hillsborough and the surrounding areas, though there may be some occasional work further north in San Francisco. Our ideal candidate is located within a 30 minute commute and is willing to commit to at least 2 years with our company. You must have 2+ years professional gardening field experience or an AA Horticultural degree. You must have your own vehicle or the ability to get to our work sites. You must be able to perform garden-related heavy labor tasks for extended periods of time, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. There is a potential for this to lead a full time position and/or to a management position, if there is a good fit. Preference will be given to gardeners with:
- Experience with pruning a wide variety of plants, especially natives
- Experience with vegetables and/or native plants
- Experience installing, programming, and retrofitting irrigation systems
- Dependability and a professional manner with clients and staff
- A friendly and easy-going disposition
- Flexible schedule
- Parental leave
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Our response to Covid-19 involves a safety protocol for on-site visits and when working in teams. We minimize interactions with clients and only work in small teams. Tool and hand sanitization are required. Our staff are all vaccinated. Ability to commute/relocate:
- Hillsborough, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
- Gardening: 2 years (Required)
