To provide service in all A La Carte areas to members and their guests. Complete the set up and cleanup of all areas pertaining to a la carte, well as any other tasks assigned by management. Assist in event set up, execution, & breakdown. To enhance the dining experience by following proper service procedures and by exceeding member expectations. Be willing and able to communicate courteously and politely with members daily. Maintain a professional demeanor, work harmoniously with others, and strive to excel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Proper serving and clearing of food and beverages
Knowledge of our menu and being able to answer questions about ingredients or cooking techniques
Knowledge of our house wine selections, including the grape and region; vintage is a bonus
Ability to present and pour a bottle of wine or champagne
Communicate courteously and politely with members
Knowledge of and efficient use of the POS system
Setting an A La Carte and Banquet table properly: positioning of china, silver and glassware
Gathering and setting of daily functions: placing tables, chairs and setting to specifications noted on the floor plan or BEO
Completing close-out responsibilities: cleaning and re-stocking A La Carte areas for use the next day
Attend daily pre shift staff meeting
Attend additional training classes as announced, i.e. wine training, and banquet training
Complete any additional duties/ projects as assigned by management
Serve with banquet staff at occasional large functions or weddings
Folding napkins for service in the dining rooms as well as for the week's functions
Replenishing condiments, salt and pepper, lemon wedges, coffee and tea
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of other events taking place in the clubhouse
Most important requirement is that the server show up on time, properly groomed and dressed, and in a positive frame of mind to be a productive member of our team
Required Skills:
A thorough understanding of fine and casual dining settings
Excellent Food and Beverage knowledge.
Exposure to a private club environment is preferable but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able bend and reach for items off shelf, carry trays, able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
Use touch screen for POS system
Basic reading and writing skills
Ability to speak English conversationally
