Responsibilities

Prepare a wide range of deli items including sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, cheeses, and other specialty foods with attention to quality and presentation. Serve customers efficiently while providing friendly, knowledgeable assistance to meet their needs. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing. Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to enhance customer experience and increase sales. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area by regularly cleaning counters, utensils, and food preparation surfaces in accordance with food safety regulations. Restock shelves, coolers, and display cases to ensure fresh products are available at all times. Assist with food handling procedures including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of products to ensure freshness and safety. Support food preparation tasks such as slicing meats or cheeses using kitchen equipment while adhering to safety guidelines. Buss tables or assist in clearing the dining area during busy periods to maintain a tidy environment. Manage cash register operations with accuracy while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food industry standards and sanitation practices. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or food service is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn!

Experience working in a cafe, grocery store, or retail environment will help you excel in this role. Strong time management skills are essential for balancing multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours. Knowledge of basic math for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management is beneficial. Previous restaurant experience or working within the food industry will provide a solid foundation for success here.
