We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage comprehensive accounting functions for our organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise will support our financial health by handling general ledger management, account reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting. Responsibilities
Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as Sage, or similar platforms
Prepare and record journal entries accurately, including debits and credits, ensuring proper double-entry bookkeeping procedures
Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
Help process payroll and handle related tax filings in compliance with governmental regulations
Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures with thorough attention to detail
Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and maintain proper documentation for all transactions
Assist with budgeting activities and provide account analysis to support strategic decision-making
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial records
Requirements
Proven experience as a full charge bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of corporate and non-profit accounting practices
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, or comparable systems
Solid knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting principles where applicable
Experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account analysis
Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks
Strong understanding of payroll processing, tax regulations, and related software tools
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams
