Major Duties
Serves as first level of contact for guest service issues. Resolve guest issues in a timely manner and determine whether to escalate to General Manager as needed. Assist General Manger with daily managerial duties to include assisting with interviewing, hiring and training new team members.
Oversee all aspects of front-of-the-house operations, including the check-in and check-out process, ensuring that it is swift, efficient and pleasant. Performs front desk operations, to include assigned shifts. Oversees guest departure process, ensuring accounts are properly charged, correct statements are provided and ensuring a 100% Positive Guest Experience.
Keeps track of inventory and orders supplies related to guest services and ensures hotel amenities are available and ready for guests. Responsible for control of cash boxes. Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, signing timesheets, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment.
Qualifications
A minimum of three years guest services experience, preferably in a lodging and/or hotel operation.
One-year supervisory experience. Ability to supervise employees in accomplishing work.
Strong professional oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide outstanding customer service, maintain positive employee relations and effectively train team members. Knowledge of safety procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, subordinates, officials and others. Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software. Use of Property Management System (PMS) is preferred. Knowledge of Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) policies and procedures preferred. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
