Hotel Front Desk Agent and/or Night Auditor - (Front Desk WAGE RANGE at this hotel is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour) We are looking for the right person who can work a FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE allowing them to work varying shifts. Our 108 room Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Carpinteria needs Front Desk Clerks to serve as the face of our business. We\'re looking for friendly individuals who enjoy being around and working with people and who can multi-task well. Previous customer service experience is important as you\'ll already understand the importance of responding quickly to guests\' needs, questions, and complaints. Telephone work and computer work are heavy. Experienced hospitality workers are encouraged to apply, but we\'ll consider training the right individuals.
Responsibilities and Duties
Handling telephones and responding to guest inquiries.
Your cheerfulness will greet arriving guests both walk-in and booked prior to arrival.
You may help guests with special services and direct them to their destinations.
You\'ll be "front line" in communicating guest special requests and complaints to the appropriate department within the hotel.
Resolve guest issues when possible or applicable.
Front Desk Clerk/Agents (not Night Auditors) usually work day shifts which can range from as early at about 7 a.m. to as late as 11 p.m.
The hotel business is a 24/7/365 business so we\'re never closed meaning weekends and holidays are probably going to be work days.
Qualifications and Skills
Bilingual is a plus.
We prefer 1-2 years of customer service experience with previous hotel experience a plus.
You must have excellent oral and written communications skills and be computer capable including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Previous experience with the Opera Hotel System is a big plus.
Excellent telephone personality is a must.
The Hotel never closes, so you must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Successful candidates must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality not only regarding hotel operations and procedures, but also (and very importantly) regarding guests.
