Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Former Aquarium Director of Operations to lead and oversee the strategic and operational functions of a prominent aquatic facility. This senior leadership role requires a proven track record in management, strategic planning, and business development within complex organizational environments. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for marine life, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and visitor experience.

Responsibilities



Provide visionary leadership to ensure the smooth operation of all aquarium departments, including exhibits, education, conservation, and visitor services. Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organizational goals to promote growth, sustainability, and community engagement. Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Lead senior management teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Cultivate partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, conservation organizations, sponsors, and the community. Drive business development initiatives to expand visitor engagement, educational programs, and revenue streams. Lead negotiations for contracts, sponsorships, and collaborations that support organizational objectives. Implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance overall organizational performance. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of aquatic facility management.

Qualifications



Proven experience as an Aquarium Director of Operations or in a senior management role within a similar large-scale aquatic or zoological organization. Strong background in management, strategic planning, and operations management. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and foster a positive organizational culture. Expertise in negotiation, business development, project management, and process improvement strategies. Excellent communication skills suitable for engaging with diverse stakeholders including staff, board members, partners, and visitors. Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions that align with organizational goals. A passion for marine life conservation and education is highly desirable. Pay: $24.16 - $29.10 per hour
