High school diploma or equivalent 2. Good health, free from disease or infection as demonstrated by passing the pre-employment physical.3. Demonstrated aptitude, competence or training for the assigned responsibilities. 4. Must successfully complete the any state/local training curriculum before becoming permanently employed. REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager JOB GOAL: To prepare high quality and nutritious meals. KNOWLEDGE OF: 1. Basic math and cashier skills. 2. Basic record keeping techniques. 3. Standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements. 4. Sanitation practices related to handling and serving food. 5. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. 6. Proper lifting techniques. ABILITY TO: 1. Prepare and serve food in accordance with health and sanitation regulations. 2. Learn and follow health and sanitation requirements. 3. Maintain food service equipment and areas in a clean and sanitary condition. 4. Operate a cash register and make change accurately. 5. Meet schedules and time lines. 6. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. 7. Understand and follow oral and written directions. 8. Work cooperatively with others. 9. Lift heavy objects. 10. Lift, bend, push, walk and stand for extended periods of time. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in the preparation of food. 2. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter. 3. Follows directions for storage or disposal of unused food. 4. Assists in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service area. 5. Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the cafeteria manager. 6. Helps create a positive environment for students by being pleasant and cheerful when in contact with the students. 7. Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager. 8. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding employees, individual students and their families. 9. Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave. 10. Must complete training course for certification of school food service personnel. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate and number of hours and days set annually by the Board of Education EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board\'s Policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
