Job Description

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:



Position Specific Performance Expectations:



o Positive and supportive team member to staff members and the hospital.

o Keeping all machines clean and sanitized after each use.

o Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation.

o Attend staff meetings.

o Interaction with other departments in solving problems and working as a team.

o Acts as an internal consultant and educator to hospital staff in areas of expertise as needed.

o Demonstrates a professional and caring attitude.

o Feedback sessions with Supervisor.

o Strives to ensure continual compliance with Departmental and Hospital Policies and Procedures and

State/Federal Regulations.

o Employee participates in, in-services.

o Employee is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of floors at TMH, TMHMC, and Rapid Care Craig


including but not limited to mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing floor tiles and vacuuming, and shampooing


carpets.

o Employee must be able to use a computer to do annual safety training courses and to read e-mail.

o After training employee must be able to operate and clean all floor machines.

o Employee will assist EVS staff with lifting, cleaning, etc.

o Can identify and access system to report abuse of employees and/or patients.

o Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, safety and risk management.

o Knowledge of patient's rights.

o Performs other duties as assigned.

o Responsible for disposal of trash, bio hazard waste and other disposable materials.

o Must handle various cleaning solvents and supplies.

o Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.

o Able to work all shifts including Weekends and Holiday hours.

o Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time frames.

o Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with


all patients, staff and vendors.

o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and


time.

o Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality


initiatives.

Qualifications:



Education/Certifications:



o High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Required:



o Hospital floor care experience is desirable


Position Classification: Non-Exempt




Compensation Range: $17.77 to $23.17
